Traditional Spanish Colonial Utilitarian Wares: Micaceous Bean Pots and Serving Ware
The Carrillo family offers visitors a peek into Abiquiú’s past. At our home-gallery we will exhibit hand coiled utilitarian micaceous pottery identical to pottery made by Genizaro villagers in the 18th and 19th century. Debbie Carrillo was the artist recipient of the life-time Achievement Award at the 2014 Spanish Market. The Carrillo family invites visitors to learn about the colonial past of the Pueblo de Abiquiú, through their traditional art forms.
